Nancy Hulse
Senior Editor
My love of gardening has led me from city to farm and back again. When my children were young we moved to a small farm, where we were part of a community of families experiencing country life for the first time. Those were the days of abundant gardens, canning and preserving food, raising a menagerie of farm animals (we even had a cooperative milk cow), and imaginative and inventive do-it-yourself projects.
Now I do my gardening on a double city lot, and I find many of my country experiences translate, if on a much smaller scale. One of my interests is encouraging both new and experienced gardeners to find space to garden in the city, to create beautiful and nurturing outdoor spaces, and to choose the best and most environmentally friendly products to support a sustainable lifestyle.
