If you have not been following Stephen Colbert's 'Exploratory Presidential Campaign', you really should at least follow the reporting being done by the Huffington Post. Colbert is doing a brilliant job at exposing the Supreme Courts flawed decisions two years ago, which stripped away regulation of campaign financing. Watch the Huffington Post report.

You've got to admire Bill Gates for his philanthropy and for his pushing other uber-wealthy to give back. In fact, I would say that any extremely wealthy American who does not take the giving pledge is not a patriot.

This American Life has a great new episode this week, which I think should be called 'Where Does Your Crap Come From?', but instead it's called Mr. Daisey and the Apple Factory. Very entertaining and insightful listening.

Charlie Rose had a great show last night which a lengthy, thoughtful and inspired interview with departing congressman Barney Frank, who had a lot to say on where we have been and where we're going as a country. The second interview was with former Senator George McGovern. Both are true American patriots and the second a war hero. Highly recommended viewing

This NPR Story is one that every American should hear. Republicans have been claiming that taxing millionaires will hurt small business. Intuitively we all know this is wrong, because only 1% of small business owners are millionaires. Second, if you ask the millionaire business owners if they can afford to be taxed more, most say if it helps get our deficit payed down, no problem. Listen now and pass on

Today we have an article on making a worm composting bin from trash containers. It's easy and a great way to get started with vermiculture at home. Learn how to make a wormbin at home now.

Here's a great eco-tip. Any device you have around the house which uses batteries and is seldom used, be sure to switch the batteries around, so that they are not slowly draining when the device is not in use. Just remove the batteries, turn them in the opposite direction and re-install, until you need to use the device. This will make the batteries last a lot longer, ensure they are working when you need them and saves money on batteries, reducing landfill.

Funny.

We have some new lip balm making kits, which are a great holiday gift idea.
